Are GMOs safe to humans, animals, and the environment? Does advances in biotechnology benefit multinational corporations more than farmers? What are the moral and ethical dimensions of biotechnology and genetic modification? What are the advantages of using modern biotechnology applications? What are the risks involved and how are they managed?
In this course, trainees will be provided an objective overview of the issues and concerns surrounding biotechnology, particularly risks associated with the application of genetic modification technology; how risks are viewed by various stakeholders; and how these risks are assessed and managed.
