Through the Capability Building Training for Biotech Regulators, I had an in-depth and positive perception about biotechnology and its applications in the environment, food production and health care. As a biodiversity steward, participating in this training is advantageous in crafting and developing national policies associating biotechnology in the conservation and protection of the country’s natural resources.

Having participated in the Progressive Manpower Enhancement Program Levels 1A to 1C was both a refreshing and a learning experience. It served not only as a venue to learn about updates and review existing principles and guidelines about biotechnology and other related topics but also as a venue to meet others from the different government agencies/organizations and also learn from the active participation and discussion.

My experience during the Biotech Training Level 1A-1C was refreshing. Aside from hearing the topics directly from the experts, I like that the training was divided into different levels, not difficult to catch up.

The PMEP Levels 1A to 1C have been a very enriching opportunity for me, especially as someone new in the field of Regulation of GM animals. I learned a lot from our workshops, particularly on the different aspects of Biotechnology, GM animal and product development, Risk Assessment, etc. I truly appreciate the capacity-building initiative of the DA-Biotech Program to equip future generations of regulators who will ensure a biosafe and biosecure Philippines.

The training series gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation of agricultural biotechnology in various aspects. Each session I've attended had a lot to offer - from the remarkable resource speakers, comprehensive lectures, co-participants from various national regulatory agencies, and facilitators. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the DA Biotech Program Office and ISAAA for this initiative. It was indeed a great privilege to become one of the pilot trainees of the Capability Building Training Series on GM Animals for Regulators and I look forward to finishing all the levels of the training series.
